Soulcyde Is

Natz, vocalist songwriter and Tsuyoshi, guitarist composer. Together they make Soulcyde ......
"Music from the Soulcyde of our hearts"

How It Began

A chance meeting at a London rehearsal studio led to the birth of SoulCyde. Natz and Tsuyoshi realised that they were both passionate about "real" music.

Natz

Natz, her love is performing live, she uses every opportunity to empower her audience and says she can set them on fire with excitement and hasn't failed YET!! She writes for Soulcyde and is heavily influenced by raw emotion.

She adores Lenny Kravitz, Chaka Khan and Tina Turner. Natz is most proud of staying true to "our music" and the duo's nomination at the Orange County Music Awards 2004 for Best International Act.

Off Stage Antics

When asked about her off stage antics, she cites falling 10ft out of an attic & setting her neighbours shed on fire as "stuff that just happens".

Tsuyoshi

Tsuyoshi - Original native to Oaska Japan has always been driven by music. He fell in love with the guitar whilst still at school in leafy Suffolk.

His influences include Bootsy Collins, Prince, Sly & Family Stone, EWF, Zapp and Parliament. For a few years he played with Hip-Hop band Def Tex. He enjoys creating new tracks and is an absolute Reggae fanatic.

Tsuyoshi Confesses

He confesses that he's a bit of a practical joker and enjoys winding people up. He's an outdoor sports fanatic who enjoys tree climbing, skating and camping. He thrives on the "magic" that is Soulcyde and lists rocking Tommy Hilfiger, Regent Street, London in the name of "In the City-Showcase" as one of his favourite gigs along with raising £3,000 for Oxjam at the Playrooms in London.

BBC Radio Says

BBC Radio London caught the magic that is Soulcyde live and the switchboard was overwhelmed with calls. Interviewed by a very wowed Geoff Schumann who said that "Soulcyde are Britain's best kept secret" he has invited them back as has BBC Southern Counties Radio.

Serious Soulcyde

Soulcyde also have a serious side and are supporters of the charity Keep A Child Alive for whom they dedicated the proceeds from their record "Heaven Can Wait". The charity looks after children who are HIV/AIDS suffers. Natz says, "it is unbelievable the number of children who have died and we do what we can to help".

Gigging Memories

Favourite Gig?

Natz: "Oh my gosh, Japan Japan Japan, the audiences were so appreciative and the band had learnt our set way before I arrived. The crowds were hyped, we sold out and they showed so much love and my Japanese is limited to konniciwa and saiko (shame on Toshi) but they felt us". Other memories include a near strangulation and such stuff but I'll save that for later.
Tsuyoshi: Anywhere Natz is vibing.
